The dock provides two functions:
- Power to the unit for receiving automatic overnight software updates and transmitting data if it was not previously sent.
- Provides a safe and secure home base so the unit is always in a known location when not in use. The CPX should be kept in the dock when not in use.
The dock does NOT recharge the AA batteries. It also does not use the AA batteries for any purpose and will not drain the batteries. The dock receives power from the wall outlet.
